What to have ready when you call
Four things get you a useful answer fastest: the address, what you are seeing, when it started, and whether it has happened before.
The most valuable detail is whether more than one fixture is affected. A single slow sink is a branch-line problem. A toilet flush that makes a tub gurgle, or a shower that backs up when the washing machine drains, means both meet the same restriction downstream — that is a main-line problem, and it changes what we bring.
If water is actively escaping, shut it off before anything else. The main shut-off is usually where the service line enters the building, in a garage, or at the meter. Most fixtures also have a local valve at the wall that isolates just that fixture.
If it is an emergency
The test is whether waiting causes damage. A burst pipe, a sewer backup inside the building, or no water at all qualifies — call (323) 303-0060 rather than using the form. A drip or one slow drain does not, however annoying, and scheduling it normally will cost less for the same result. See emergency plumbing.
If you smell gas, do not use the form and do not troubleshoot it. Leave the building, avoid operating electrical switches on the way out, and call the gas utility or emergency services from outside. Plumbing work follows once the hazard is handled.

Do you charge for a call-out?
Call and ask directly — we will tell you how it works for your situation rather than have you guess from a web page. Having the address and a description of the symptoms ready makes that a much shorter conversation.
How quickly will you get back to a form submission?
Forms are checked through the day, but for anything urgent the phone is the right channel. If water is actively escaping or a sewer is backing up into the building, call rather than submit — the form has no way to tell us it is an emergency.
Can you tell me the cost over the phone?
For simple, well-defined work sometimes. For anything involving a buried line, a leak that has not been located, or a sewer problem, an honest answer needs a look first — two very different faults produce identical symptoms at the fixture and cost very different amounts to fix.
