Plumbing tips & guides from local pros

What you will find here

These are the questions we get asked on site, written out properly. Most plumbing advice online is either too general to act on or written to sell a service. The aim here is to explain what is actually happening in a system so you can tell the difference between a problem that needs attention now and one that can wait.

The articles group into three areas. **Drains and sewers** covers slow drains, recurring clogs, and the point at which a blockage stops being a cleaning problem and becomes sewer repair. **Leaks** covers finding what is not visible — slab leaks, supply-line failures, and reading your own meter. **Water heaters** covers performance, the repair-versus-replace line, and why sediment matters more here than in soft-water regions.

How to use it

If you have a specific symptom, the fastest route is usually the relevant service page rather than an article — those cover what causes the problem, how the method gets chosen, and when it escalates.

If you are deciding whether something is urgent, emergency plumbing sets out the test we use: whether waiting causes damage. And if you want to check something yourself before calling, the meter test described in leak detection costs nothing and takes an hour.

Anything you cannot find an answer to, call (323) 303-0060. We would rather answer a question than have someone guess from a web page.
